CUEL Director, Professsor Paul Stanton Kibel

Professor Paul Stanton Kibel teaches courses on water law, natural resource law, environmental law and land use law at GGU School of Law and is faculty editor for the GGU Environmental Law Journal. He is a former partner with the environmental practice group at Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley, previously worked as an attorney with the California State Coastal Conservancy, Pacific Environment and Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, and is presently natural resource counsel to the Water and Power Law Group. His publications include the books The Earth on Trial: Environmental Law on the International Stage (Routledge) and Rivertown: Rethinking Urban Rivers (MIT Press). He is a faculty advisor to the California Water Law Symposium, serves on the advisory council to San Francisco Baykeeper, and is a member of the International Water Law Association (AIDA). He holds an LLM from Boalt Hall Law School at the University of California at Berkeley and a B.A. from Colgate University in New York.
